The Nigeria Project – The Remnant Church To The Rescue

The Nigerian State stands presently on the edge of a very steep precipice. Only a mild push will tip it over the cliff of destruction. Those at the helm of affairs, even with the best of intentions, do not have the faintest clue on how to salvage this Titanic.

Anything could happen from this moment on, especially as we approach an election year in 2015. A lot of factors will determine which way the pendulum will swing – a renaissance of the nation or total disintegration. Major among these factors is what the people will allow to happen. As is usual in this type of situation, a deliverer (a group of deliverers) or a destroyer (group of destroyers) will likely emerge to take the nation to one extreme or the other. The likelihood of the latter emerging is a major source of concern to those who care about the welfare of Nigeria.

Two major issues are at the root of Nigeria’s problem. In the first place, the foundation of Nigeria is faulty. Unlike modern day Super Power nations like Britain and the United States of America, Nigeria was not founded on godly principles. Selfish, tribal and economic considerations, political intrigues, injustice, corruption, wickedness, among others, were the basis of the contraption called Nigeria. This fact has weakened the moral fabric which should be the bedrock of nationhood. In the case of Britain, after defeating the invading Vikings, Alfred the Great chose existing laws which agreed with Christ’s teachings and collected them into one Common Law. The founders of United States of America on the other hand, penned down an agreement known as Mayflower Compact 1620, which starts thus: “IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN”.  It continued, “We, whose names are underwritten,…having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith...do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God…do enact, constitute, and frame…” Thus, these nations grew to control the world. God used them mightly to propagate the gospel. The misfortune that they are experiencing currently is because they have jettisoned God and Christianity from the public space. A new Nigeira therefore MUST align with God if she will take up her rightful position as the next world power.

His endtime revival. Some of the prophecies that have gone forth to confirm this include: ” – Cindy Jacobs, 2005;“”Juniour Desouza, 2008; “”Pa Elton, 1986. Nigeria is expected to bring back holiness and righteousness to the Body of Christ, preparing her for the eminent return of Christ. For this reason, hell has been let loose on her. Whoever gets Nigeria gets the World! No wonder some powerful and rich nations are falling over each other to impose and influence the emergence of leaders in this nation.

With the foregoing at the back of our minds, the question is, “Is Nigeria salvageable?” The solution lies in the fact that Nigeria needs a clean break from her current foundation. Subsequent to this, a new foundation, based on God’s righteousness, would be entrenched.

The battle to retrieve Nigeria’s glory is fierce. It is spiritual, it is physical. The evil gatekeepers holding the nation in a gridlock have made it almost impossible for the right leaders to find their way to the top (particularly political posts), without one compromise or the other, directly or indirectly through the deeds of subordinates and godfathers. These realities and the difficulties experienced in trying to overcome these hindrances have made people to lose hope about the possibility of ever changing Nigeria for the better. This is understandable considering the level of rottenness at ALL levels.

But there is hope: The ONLY solution to our current imbroglio is S INTERVENTION!!! Hitherto, many attempts to get Nigeria on the right track have failed because they were based on human wisdom. Where godly solutions were applieds word has gone forth from the mouth of many servants of His (local and international) that Nigeria will be restored to be a reference point to the world on righteousness. To see the manifestation of this into reality, God is waiting for His remnant Church to arise in one accord and in one mind, to implement His strategies and blueprint for national transformation. Given the weight of prophecies on 2015 being the turn-around year for Nigeria, this action must be intentional and timely, particularly as 2015 election year is fast approaching. Having God-chosen leaders in the mould of King David, is the ideal that God wants for us. Once the right leadership is enthroned, the ship of the nation will begin to be steered in the right direction.

THE WAY FORWARD:

Understanding God’s strategy for transformation will enable us to see clearly how feasible the salvation of Nigeria is. The eight-point actions below are necessary steps the remnant church MUST take to achieve the desired change.

1.         Co-operation: There is need for co-operation between individuals, Ministries or Churches who understand the vision of God’s transformation agenda to work together at all levels to implement them. The purpose of this Co-operation (which should not be construed to be a merger of ministries) is purely to garner the needed SYNERGY which is key to accomplishing this divine assignment. Spirit-led strategies will be employed to make this effective.

2.         Prayer Foundation:  A co-ordinated prayer regime will be established in designated domains. A 24/7 altar of intercession is key to the success of the Nigeria Project. Strongholds will be pulled down through prophetic actions and strategic prophetic warfare. Land Armies will be trained and stationed to maintain territories won.

3.         Restoration of the Church: The Church must be restored to her divine purpose as God’s instrument to disciple nations (Matthew 28:19-20), possess the earth (all spheres of influence) and enthrone His righteousness therein (Luke 19: 13b), and accomplish this before Christ returns (Matthew 24:14). There is an urgent need for the Church to be steered back to the ‘old pathway’ (Jeremiah 6:16). The Holy Spirit should be allowed to take preeminence; God’s work must be built according to plan; discipleship, the five-fold office, as well as evangelism, missions, worship and intercession must be restored.

4.         Promotion of Church Unity:  The unity of the Body of Christ is the will of God. It is only in ONENESS that the Church will be made perfect. The Church cannot prevail against evil in the land except she acts as one body. Steps must be taken to bring about Church Unity whether we consider it possible or not. The unity in spirit is emphasized here and the focus is on the remnants in the first instance, and the whole Body eventually.

5.         Re-orientation of the Populace: This, on one hand, is to restore the lost value system of the people and positively influence their mindset. On the other hand, the Saints who have been in trenches for long would be retrained to learn the language of the world in order to work under cover. Some others would be so elevated in the new season that they, for example, will need to adjust properly (protocol, etiquette et al) in their new status.

6.         Preparation: There is an urgent need to intensify efforts to disciple change agents for them to be fully equipped to occupy the key positions in all spheres of influence. There must be a conscious, intentional and concerted effort made to train them in the required skills (spiritual and professional) needed to be capable leaders and then, support them in all ways possible, to get to the top of their spheres of influence.

7.         Mode of engagement: Creation of platforms for networking (especially for people in the same spheres of influence), Advocacy and Public Enlightenment programmes, Talks/Teachings, Seminars, Retreats, Mentorship programmes, Establishment of Activity Centres where people can have access to relevant materials/information, counsellors and lecturers on a daily basis concerning their areas of specialization.

8.         Monitoring: There is need for monitoring and coordination. This project of national transformation is huge and requires a lot of attention paid to it. As in all things, capable hands must monitor this project if it must bear fruit. God’s pattern for this is that He usually seeks for Elders who will sit at the gate and ensure that His will is done. These elders, who should be matured in faith and age, influencial, knowledgeable about Nigeria’s history and current affairs, will midwife the birth of a new Nigeria whose foundation is laid on God’s righteousness, love and justice and whose people are bound in freedom, peace and unity.

Other Key Areas for Intervention by Elders at the Gate :

  • Provide a godly prayer covering and spiritual surveillance for the Nation and her    people.

  • Engage the public space to speak truth to the Nation

  • Meet with the President of the Nation, and other leaders in all spheres of influence, with solutions that will bring desired change

  • Guide the populace to engage in the processes of nation transformation.

    Action Plan

  • Convene a Coalition of Watchmen and Marketplace Apostles (COWAMA) to harmonize God’s prophecies and instructions given to various groups/individuals, and articulate a well thought out STRATEGY for nation transformation

  • Wait on God with the finished strategy for further instruction and supernatural empowerment (Acts 1:8).

    Conclusion

Evil thrives when good people keep mute. If we keep praying and do not act, all the prophecies we have received will not come to manifestation. The current chaotic situation in Nigeria has opened the opportunity for us, the ordinary Christian people, to seize the day, with the Lord guiding us. WE MUST NOT MISS 2015! We must arise now and act fast or pay dearly for our laxity.

God bless us all to be partakers of a new Nigeria.
